New Mexico Visits San Jose Looking for Season Sweep of the Spartans

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The New Mexico men’s basketball team looks to remain unbeaten in conference play with a visit to San Jose State on Tuesday night. Game time at the Provident Credit Union Event Center is 8 p.m. MT (7 p.m. PT) and the contest will air on the Mountain West Network and the Lobo Radio Network.

New Mexico (14-3, 6-0 MW) has posted its best Mountain West start ever and is 6-0 in conference play for the first time since 1977-78 when it opened WAC play 10-0. Donovan Dent is the reigning Mountain West Player of the Week, after leading the Lobos to wins at Wyoming and over San Diego State. He remains the only player in the nation averaging 19 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.

San Jose State (8-10, 1-5 MW) is coming off a 69-62 win at Air Force on Saturday. The Spartans, who are 3-5 at home this season, are led in scoring by Josh Uduje, who averages 16.7 points per game.

New Mexico leads the all-time series 22-5, including a 6-3 mark in San Jose. The Lobos won the first meeting of the season, 83-77, at The Pit in the conference opener on Dec. 4. UNM has won in San Jose in each of the past two seasons, 95-75 last season and 96-68 in 2022-23.

The Lobos will return home to host Boise State on Friday night. The game will tip-off at 9 p.m. and the game will air on FS1. Tickets are on sale at GoLobos.com/tickets.
