Lobos Visit Fresno State for New Year’s Eve Matchup

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The New Mexico men’s basketball team concludes a two-game road trip on Tuesday when it visits Fresno State for a New Year’s Eve contest. Game time at the Save Mart Center is 6 p.m. MT (5:00 pm PT) and the contest will air on the Mountain West Network and on the Lobo Radio Network.

New Mexico (10-3, 2-0 MW) began its road trip with a 76-68 victory at Colorado State on Saturday afternoon. Donovan Dent and Mustapha Amzil led the Lobos with 14 points each in the victory. UNM is looking to open conference play with three straight wins for the first time since the 2015-16 season.

Fresno State (4-9, 0-2 MW) is coming off an 87-77 loss at UNLV on Saturday night. The Bulldogs are led by Amar Augillard, who is averaging 13.3 points per game. Fresno State and New Mexico are both ranked in the top 10 nationally in tempo by KenPom, both averaging nearly 74 possessions per game.

Fresno State leads the all-time series 21-19, including a 16-4 mark in Fresno and a 9-3 record at the Save Mart Center. The Lobos have won the last two meetings, both at The Pit, but have dropped eight straight in Fresno since a 2015-16 win at the Save Mart Center.

The Lobos return home on Jan. 3 to host Nevada in the 1,000th game in The Pit. Game time is 9:00 pm and the game will air on FS1. Tickets are on sale now at GoLobos.com/tickets.
