Lobos Return to Pool Against SDSU and Pepperdine
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Christmas Break is over and the Lobos will head to the left coast for the first meet of 2025 as UNM will compete in a double-dual, taking on the San Diego State Aztecs and the Pepperdine Waves at the Aztec Aquaplex on Thursday, January 2 at 3 p.m. Mountain Time, 2 p.m. Pacific Time.
The Lobos will have 21 swimmers and divers competing (16 swimmers, five divers), but the Lobos will be minus Arianna Stokes, who has picked up a pair of Top 10 marks on her own and has swam key spots on UNM’s “A” relays. The Lobos will have key newcomer Ellie Broughton along with veterans Jordan Foster, Katy McCarter, Tahlia Micallef and Linda Franco.
Diving will once again be paced by Alice English and Isabella Gomez. Gomez has turned in Zone cuts in all three disciplines, and English already is building a tremendous career in just her sophomore season.
San Diego State enters the meet 5-0 and Pepperdine is 1-3. The event will not be streamed.
