Lobos Open Mountain West Road Schedule Saturday at Colorado State
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The New Mexico men’s basketball team begins its Mountain West road schedule on Saturday when it visits Colorado State. Game time at Moby Arena is 1 p.m. and the contest will air on the Mountain West Network and on the Lobo Radio Network.
New Mexico (9-3, 1-0 MW) is coming off a 78-71 victory over VCU on Dec. 18 to close out non-conference play. Donovan Dent led the Lobos with a career-high 40 points, the highest scoring game by a Mountain West player in two seasons. He was honored as Mountain West Player of the Week and the Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week. UNM opened conference play on Dec. 4 with a home victory over San Jose State.
Colorado State (7-5, 1-0 MW) won its conference opener last Saturday, posting a 66-64 win at Nevada. The Rams are led by Nique Clifford, who is averaging 16.3 points per game. CSU is 5-1 this season at Moby Arena.
The Lobos lead the overall series 80-53, but the Rams lead 39-26 in Fort Collins and 28-25 at Moby Arena. Colorado State has won the last six games in Fort Collins with UNM’s last win at Moby coming in 2017-18. Last season, the Lobos won two of the three meetings, with each winning at home in the regular season before New Mexico won a Mountain West Tournament semifinal matchup.
New Mexico will conclude the two-game road trip with a visit to Fresno State on Dec. 31. The Lobos return home on Jan. 3 to host Nevada in the 1,000th game in The Pit.
