Lobo Softball Announces 2025 Schedule
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— The 2025 Lobo Softball schedule features 12 home games in a 52-game schedule, as announced on Wednesday.
UNM’s schedule includes four teams that made the NCAA Tournament last season and six teams that the Lobos will be facing for the first time in program history.
The Lobos open their season in Texas against Sam Houston on Feb. 6 before heading to Houston for the Houston Classic the weekend of Feb. 7 to Feb. 9 to play Houston Christian, Houston and St. John’s. UNM is set to play Houston Christian and Houston twice and close the weekend against St. Johns, a team the Lobos will be playing for the first time.
In total, the Lobos have three consecutive weekends in Texas, returning to the Lone Star State for the Bobcat Tournament Feb. 14-16 for five games against Fordham, St. Thomas and Texas State. It will be the second meeting all-time against Fordham and the first since 2000, the first meeting against St. Thomas and the first game against Texas State since 2017.
The following weekend, UNM travels to Stephenville, Texas for the Tarleton Invitational against Texas Southern, North Dakota and Tarleton State. The weekend presents the first game against North Dakota since 2019, the first against Tarleton State since 2022 and second meeting all-time and the first game against Texas Southern since 2020.
As February turns to March, UNM continues its non-conference schedule on the road at Mississippi State to play Northwestern State, Mississippi State and Alabama State Feb. 28 – March 2. Of the three opponents, it will be the first meeting against Alabama State, the first since 1997 against Mississippi State and the first since 2009 against Northwestern State.
UNM closes its non-conference tournament schedule in Phoenix, Arizona at the Purple Classic with games against St. Joseph’s, San Diego and Penn, which will be the first meetings against St. Joseph’s and Penn and the first with San Diego since 2020.
The Lobos then head to Las Cruces for the lone meeting with the Aggies on March 11 before conference play begins against San José State in the home opener March 14-16.
A midweek trip to UTEP on March 18 begins a seven-game road stint with a series at San Diego State (March 21-23), a game at UC San Diego (March 25 and first meeting all-time between the programs) and a doubleheader at Utah State (April 2).
The Lobos return home for a five-game homestand against Boise State (April 5-6) and Colorado State (April 11-13) before a trip to Fresno State (April 17-19). UNM closes the month of April with four consecutive home games against UTEP (April 22) and a series against Nevada (April 25-27) with the last conference series at UNLV May 1-3. The Mountain West Championship is set for May 8-10 in San Diego.
UNM heads into the 2025 and head coach Nicole Dickson’s third season with 15 newcomers and are led by three seniors in Ashley Archuleta, Emma Bramson and Sydney Carithers.
