Lobos Host San Jose State Wednesday Night to Open Mountain West Play
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The New Mexico men’s basketball team begins conference play Wednesday night by hosting San Jose State to begin a four-game homestand at The Pit. The game will tip off at 7:00 p.m. with coverage on the Mountain West Network and the Lobo Radio Network.

New Mexico (6-2) returns home after a third-place finish at the Acrisure Classic in Palm Springs. The Lobos fell 85-82 to Arizona State in the semifinals before downing USC 83-73 in the consolation game. Donovan Dent posted his third double-double of the season against the Trojans with 17 points and 11 assists and is the only player in the nation averaging 18.0 points and 8.0 assists per game.
San Jose State (4-5) is coming off three straight wins at the Ball Dawgs Classic in Las Vegas, downing UTEP, UNC Greensboro and Long Beach State. Josh Uduje, who transferred from Utah State, is leading the Spartans in scoring at 15.7 points per game.
The Lobos are 15-10 all-time in Mountain West openers, including a 10-0 record in openers in The Pit. New Mexico also leads the all-time series with San Jose State 21-5, including an 11-1 record in The Pit, and have won the last three in the series.
The Lobos continue the homestand Saturday with the Rio Grande Rivalry matchup with New Mexico State. Game time is 7:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale at GoLobos.com/tickets.
