Lobos Host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Tuesday Night at The Pit
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The New Mexico men’s basketball team returns home Tuesday night to host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at The Pit. The game will tip off at 7:00 p.m. with coverage on the Mountain West Network and the Lobo Radio Network.
Tickets for the contest are on sale now at GoLobos.com/tickets. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. The game is the Lobos’ annual Military Appreciation Night. Active military and veterans will receive a free ticket to the game by showing their military ID at The Pit box office.
New Mexico (2-0) is coming off a 72-64 victory over No. 22 UCLA on Friday night in the Las Vegas Hoopfest. Nelly Junior Joseph, who was honored as Mountain West Player of the Week, had 16 points and 12 rebounds in the win over the Bruins, his 45th career double-double. Donovan Dent is leading the conference in assists at 9.5 per game, while CJ Noland has a pair of double-figure scoring games off the bench.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (1-1) split a pair of game last week to open the season, falling at No. 14 Purdue 90-73 in the season opener before topping NCCAA foe Dallas Christian 87-36 in the home opener. The Islanders are led by Garry Clark, a preseason All-Southland Conference Team selection.
It is the first all-time meeting between the teams. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is the second Southland opponent for the Lobos this season, having defeated Nicholls 91-84 in last week’s season opener.
The Lobos will travel to New York this weekend for a Sunday matchup with No. 22 St. John’s at Madison Square Garden. Game time is noon ET (10 am MT) and the game will air on FS1.
