Lobos Host Nevada at Seidler on Saturday

by Frank Mercogliano

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The New Mexico Lobos will look to do something no one has done this year, and that’s give the Nevada Wolf Pack a run for their money.  The Lobos host the 3-0 Wolf Pack at Seidler Natatorium on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. with 14 swimming events and two diving events.

The Lobos are 1-2 on the season, coming off a promising meet at Wyoming, where UNM took for first place finishes and improved times across the board. Nevada has defeated Cal State East Bay, UC Davis and Fresno State.

UNM will have 18 swimmers in across the 14 events and six divers for the 1 and 3-meter.  Seven Lobos, Summer Wenger, Katy McCarter, Arianna Stokes, Emily Ford, Sophia Corder, Linda Franco and Asiana Lee, will all swim in four events each.

This is UNM’s last home meet until senior day on February 8 against New Mexico State, and it’s the last meet before UNM’s first Invitational meet, the Phil Hansel Invitational at Houston.
