Devey and Moody Selected to MW All-Conference Teams
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— Two Lobos earned their first all-conference selections on Monday as Presley Devey was named to the Mountain West Women’s Soccer All-Conference Second Team and Ashley Moody was named to the Mountain West Women’s Soccer All-Newcomer Team.
In her junior year, Devey led the Lobos with 12 points on five goals and two assists against MW opponents, which included one game-winning goal. The Eagle Mountain, Utah native opened up conference play with a hat trick against Nevada, the first Lobo to record a hat trick in a match since 2022 (Jadyn Edwards, 3, CSU Bakersfield) and the first to do so against a MW opponent since 2021 (Alesia Garcia, 4, Colorado College). She added a goal in the match against Fresno State and also scored against Colorado State, and assisted on goals in both the Boise State and Air Force matches.
Additionally, she recorded a point in five matches, averaged a team-best 2.73 shots per match, accounted for a team-best 1.09 points per match and 0.45 goals per match, and started in all 11 conference matches and playing 753 minutes. She played 70-plus minutes in six times, including a career-high 84 minutes in the match at Air Force.
Of her 30 shots, half were on goal and she finished with three more goals, seven more points, eight more shots and four more shots on goal than the next Lobo in each category.
Devey tied for fifth amongst conference players in points and points per match in conference matches, tied for third in goals and goals per match and was eighth in shots and shots per match.
In her first season as a Lobo, freshman defender Moody started all 11 matches and rarely was off the field, playing 937 minutes which included seven matches of 90 minutes. Her 937 minutes were the third most by a player on the team and the second most by a field player (Taryn Robles played 978 minutes). Even given her time on the field, the Colorado native was clean, only registering three fouls.
This is the second conference award for both on the season as Moody was named the MW Freshman of the Week on Oct. 14 and Devey was named MW Offensive Player of the Week on Aug. 26.
