QUICKLY

  • The Lobos are coming off a 17-6 loss at Colorado State, which ended UNM’s three-game losing streak.  UNM despite the season low of six points totaled 453 yards of total offense.  The Lobo defense allowed just 10 points, and UNM shutout the Rams in the second half, forcing five punts.
  • Wyoming has lost three straight games, by three, 10 and two points.  Wyoming lost in its last outing 27-25 on a walk-off field goal to Utah State.
  • Wyoming has won the last two meetings in the series, a series that until 2023 had been typically low scoring.  Last year’s 35-26 win for Wyoming was the only time in the last seven meetings that the combined point total was higher than 50 points.

SERIES vs. NEW MEXICO

  • Wyoming leads the all-time series 40-36, including 20-15 in Albuquerque.  UNM lost the last meeting in University Stadium, falling 27-14.  Over the last 10 years it’s been a streaky series.  Wyoming has won the last two, and that followed a two-game winning streak for UNM, including a 14-3 win in Laramie and a 17-16 win in Las Vegas.  Before that, Wyoming had won three straight, and that was after UNM had won three straight.  The first meeting between the two teams was on Thanksgiving in 1930, a 19-6 Cowboy win.
