New Mexico Selected to Host Upcoming NCAA Regionals

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico has been selected to host two upcoming regional championships, the NCAA announced on Wednesday. UNM will host the 2026 Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Mountain Region Championships and a 2028 Men’s Golf Regional.

The 2026 men’s and women’s cross country Mountain Region Championships will be held Nov. 13, 2026 at the University of New Mexico North Golf Course. It will mark the seventh time the Lobos have hosted the event since the regional format was adopted in 1997. The last time New Mexico hosted the regional was in 2022 when the Lobo women took the title.

The 2028 men’s golf regional will be held May 15-17, 2028 at the UNM Championship Course. It will mark the sixth time the Lobos have hosted a men’s regional since the NCAA created the regional format in 1989. The last time New Mexico hosted a regional was in 2021.
