At the MLB’s first-ever Home Run Derby X event in Albuquerque, UNM sophomore baseball player Gene Trujillo and UNM softball legend Andrea Howard’s “Team Lobos” won the competition’s final against a “Team Green Chile Cheeseburgers” group that featured Lobo baseball alum Jared Mang. Mang was named the event’s Most Valuable Player following its conclusion.
