MAPLE GROVE, Minn. –– New Mexico men’s golf rising senior Carson Herron won the 2024 Minnesota State Open this week at Rush Creek Golf Club. Herron shot 10-under over the three rounds before winning the title in a three-way playoff.
Herron shot round of 72-70-64 over his three rounds at Rush Creek. Over two playoff holes he defeated Caleb VanArragon and Max Tylke in a playoff to capture the championship.
With his victory, Herron received an exemption into next month’s CRMC Championship, Minnesota’s stop on PGA Tour Canada. That tournament will be August 25-Sept. 1 at Cragun’s Legacy Course in Brainerd, Minn.
