Bastien Amat Named Third Team All-American

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. –– New Mexico senior men’s golfer Bastien Amat was named to the 2024 PING All-America Team as an third team selection, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Wednesday. Amat was one of 31 players nationally to be named to the three All-America teams.

Amat earned All-America honors for the first time in his career. The 2024 Mountain West Golfer of the Year, he ended the season ranked No. 24 nationally. Amat had a stroke average of 70.52 last season, the fifth best by a Lobo in history. Among his six top-five finishes and seven top-10 finishes were two victories, at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational in October and the John Burns Intercollegiate in February.

Amat is the first Lobo to be named to one of the three All-America teams since Sam Choi was named a third team selection in 2019-20.

As a team, the Lobos finished the season ranked No. 27 nationally after reaching the NCAA Championships for the second straight season.
