Lehigh and McDonald to Compete at NCAA Las Vegas Regional
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico women’s golf team has two individuals competing this week in the NCAA Las Vegas Regional. Graduate student Lauren Lehigh and senior Myah McDonald will be playing in the tournament, held May 6-8 at Spanish Trail Country Club.
The tournament will consist of one round per day, Monday-Wednesday, with live scoring available on GolfStat.com. Lehigh and McDonald are among the six individuals in the field, playing alongside the 12 teams in the regional.
The 12 teams competing in the Las Vegas Regional are UCLA, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida State, California, Purdue, Baylor, Oklahoma, Colorado State, Kent State, Xavier and Dartmouth. Joining Lehigh and McDonald as individuals are individuals from UNLV, Texas Tech, Princeton and Northern Arizona.
Lehigh is making her fourth appearance at a NCAA Regional, having competed in the Lobo lineup when the team played in the 2021 Columbus Regional and the 2023 San Antonio Regional, in addition to playing as an individual in the 2022 Albuquerque Regional. McDonald is making her third appearance, having also played in the Lobo lineup in the 2021 and 2023 regionals.
Lehigh is currently ranked No. 77 in the national individual rankings, while McDonald is No. 179. Both are coming off top-five finishes at the Mountain West Championship. The Lobos have played in The Show at Spanish Trail on the regional course in each of the past three seasons, with McDonald winning the individual title at the event in 2023 and Lehigh finishing as runner-up in 2024.
The top five teams at the regional will advance to the NCAA Championships, held May 17-22 in Carlsbad, Calif. The top individual (not on advancing teams) will also advance to the NCAA Championships.
