LIHUE, Hawaii – The New Mexico women’s golf team continued play Monday at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational with the second round at the Ocean Course at Hokuala. The Lobos shot 1-over during the second round to move up five places to eighth at 12-over with one round left.

Arizona State is the 36-hole leader at 30-under, followed by North Carolina at 18-under, Washington at 15-under and Sacramento State at 3-under.

Three Lobos shot in red figures on Monday, as Lauren Lehigh, Annie Saechung and Maria Caparros Levin all shot a 1-under 71. Lehigh is UNM’s top player on the individual leaderboard, T-14th at 1-under overall. Myah McDonald and Lisa-Marie Pagliano each shot 76 on Monday to round out the Lobo lineup.

“We had a better day today,” said head coach Jill Trujillo. “We made a lot of birdies, but we still gave away too many shots on the par-3s.”

The Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational will conclude play on Tuesday in Kauai.
