ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico women’s golf team travels to the Hawaiian island of Kauai this week for the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational. The event will run Sunday-Tuesday at the 5,929-yard, par-72 Ocean Course at Hokuala.
The tournament will feature one round of play on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Live scoring will be available on SmartGolf.
The tournament has an field of 15 schools, including five in the top 75 of the national rankings. The Lobos, ranked No. 66 nationally is joined by No. 16 Arizona State, No. 30 North Carolina, No. 31 Washington and No. 57 Texas State. Host Hawaii, Long Beach State, San Francisco, Mercer, Sacramento State, Rutgers, Boise State, Fresno State, Tulane and Morehead State round out the field.
New Mexico’s lineup for the event is Lauren Lehigh, Myah McDonald, Lisa-Marie Pagliano, Annie Saechueng, and Maria Caparros Levin. Rebecca Galasso is competing in the event as an individual.
New Mexico has three top-six finishes in their seven events this season, finishing T-5th when it hosted the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational and a sixth place finish at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate in its last event of the fall. The Lobos are coming off a T-6th finish against an elite field at The Show at Spanish Trail in Las Vegas.
