Lauren Lehigh Named Mountain West Golfer of the Week
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – New Mexico senior Lauren Lehigh was named the Mountain West Women’s Golfer of the Week, conference officials announced Thursday. Lehigh was honored after a runner-up finish this week at The Show at Spanish Trail.
The honor is the first weekly/monthly Mountain West accolade of Lehigh’s career and the first for a Lobo this season.
Earlier this week, Lehigh tied for second at The Show Spanish Trail, her best individual finish in three years. She had her second top-five finish of the year by shooting 71-70-71 in Las Vegas for a 4-under total. Her performance at the event helped the Lobos finish T-6th against an elite field, helping UNM move up ninth spots in the national rankings.
The Lobos return to action March 17-19 with the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Hawaii.
