CHULA VISTA, Calif. –– The No. 19 New Mexico men’s golf team concluded play Tuesday at the Lamkin Invitational with the final round at the San Diego Country Club. The Lobos shot 8-under during the final round to finish T-5th at 15-under.

San Diego won the event with a score of 22-under, followed by Fresno State and Colorado tied for second at 18-under. Georgia Tech was fourth at 16-under, one shot ahead of the Lobos and Loyola Marymount.

“I am proud of how strong the guys finished today after a tough second round,” said head coach Jake Harrington. “A solid tournament from Albert Boneta and counting four under-par rounds on the final day will help us build momentum moving into Tucson in a couple weeks.”

Albert Boneta completed his second straight top-10 finish, shooting a final round 1-under 71 to finish T-5th at 7-under. Alvaro Portillo shot the low round of the day for the Lobos on Tuesday, posting a 3-under 69. Matthew Watkins and Valentin Luna each shot 70, while Bastien Amat rounded out the lineup with a final round 78.

The Lobos return to action March 18-19 at the Arizona Intercollegiate in Tucson.
