Men’s Golf Returns to Action in Las Vegas at Southern Highlands Collegiate

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico men’s golf team returns to action this week when it travels to the Las Vegas for the Southern Highlands Collegiate. The event, hosted by UNLV at the 7,510-yard, par-72 Southern Highlands Golf Club, will run Sunday-Tuesday.

The tournament will consist of one round per day on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Live scoring will be available on Golfstat.com.

The event consists of 15 teams, including 10 ranked in the top 30 of the national rankings. The Lobos are ranked No. 17 this week and are joined in Las Vegas by No. 1 North Carolina, No. 2 Auburn, No. 4 Arizona State, No. 15 Oklahoma, No. 16 Florida, No. 20 Illinois, No. 22 Texas, No. 29 Georgia and No. 30 Texas A&M. Host UNLV, Missouri, Pepperdine, San Diego State and TCU round out the field.

The Lobos will feature a lineup of Bastien Amat, Matthew Watkins, Carson Herron, Albert Boneta and Alvaro Portillo.

The Lobos are coming off a third place finish last week at the John Burns Intercollegiate in Hawaii. Amat was the medalist at that event, his second victory of the season.
