ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The New Mexico men’s basketball team concludes a two-game road trip on Friday with a visit to San Diego State for a battle of teams tied for second place in the Mountain West. Game time at Viejas Arena is 8:00 p.m. MT (7:00 p.m. PT) and the game will air on FS1 and the Lobo Radio Network.

The Lobos are 20-5 this season, 8-4 in the Mountain West, and are No. 21 in the NET after downing Nevada 83-82 on Tuesday night in Reno. New Mexico has won its last four road games and are looking for their first five-game conference road win streak since 2013-14. In the win over the Wolf Pack to start the trip, Jamal Mashburn, Jr. had 17 points to lead UNM, including a game-tying three with 1:13 to play and the go-ahead three with 22 seconds left.

San Diego State is 19-6 overall, 8-4 in the Mountain West, and is No. 18 in the NET. The Aztecs are coming off a 71-55 home win over Colorado State on Tuesday where they erased a 14-point halftime deficit by outscoring the Rams 41-11 in the second half. Jaedon LeDee had 27 points in that game as is the conference’s leading scorer at 20.3 points per game.

New Mexico won this year’s first meeting, 88-70 on Jan. 13 at The Pit when the Aztecs were ranked No. 19 nationally. The Lobos are looking for their first season sweep of SDSU since 2016-17. With a win, UNM would be the first team since Fresno State in 2018 and 2019 to win at Viejas Arena in back-to-back years.

The Lobos return home for a pair of home games next week, hosting Colorado State on Feb. 21 and Air Force on Feb. 24. Tickets for both games are on sale now at GoLobos.com/tickets.
