ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— The Lobos head to El Paso for a doubleheader against UTEP on Wednesday, with first pitch for game one at 2 p.m. MT. Wednesday’s games begin a seven-game stint in Texas on the week, with the Lobos remaining in The Lone Star State for the ACU Tournament starting on Friday. UNM is 18-13 all-time against the Miners, with the teams splitting the games last season in Albuquerque and is 3-2 in the last five games of the series.

STEAL YOUR BASE
Keyannah Chavez’s three stolen bases against Tennessee State were the most for a Lobo in a single game since 2017, when D’Andra DeFlora had three against Santa Clara on 3/11/17.

UNM’s six stolen bases were the most in a game since 2018, when UNM had six against Howard on 3/10/18. In addition to Chavez’s three, Ashley Archuleta had two stolen bases and Katherine Brunner had one stolen base.

YEATTS GOES YARD
Chloe Yeatts’ bat was active early, with the Lobo sophomore accounting for the first two home runs of the season, both coming in the first innings of the first two games.

Yeatts got the Lobos on the board in her first at-bat of the season on a two-run home run against Tennessee State and then facing an 0-2 count, took a ball and then hit a home run to center field for another two-run home run at McNeese.

On the first day, Yeatts had a combined five RBI and nine total bases.

GUEST APPEARANCE
In her first collegiate appearance, freshman pitcher McKenna Guest entered in the fourth inning with bases loaded and struck out the first two batters she faced. She then limited the Tigers to one hit in both the sixth and seventh innings to keep the Lobos within reach, recording a strikeout in each inning. Guest finished with 4.0 innings pitched, no runs or walk allowed with four hits and four strikeouts. The RHP appeared in four games with two starts, throwing the second-most innings at 8.0 and finished the weekend with seven strikeouts.
