Lobo Women’s Golf Travels to California for San Diego State Classic

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico women’s golf team returns to action this week with a trip to California for the San Diego State Classic. The event will run Monday-Tuesday at the 6,329-yard, par-72 The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe.

The tournament will feature two rounds of play on Monday, followed by the final round on Tuesday. Live scoring will be available on BirdieFire.

The tournament has a field of 12 schools, including four schools in the top 30 nationally. The Lobos, ranked No. 71 nationally, will compete against No. 6 South Carolina, No. 7 Oregon, No. 25 Virginia and No. 30 Georgia. Host San Diego State, along with Cal Baptist, Colorado, Denver, San Francisco, Tulane and UNLV round out the field.

New Mexico’s lineup for the event is Lauren Lehigh, Maria Caparros Levin, Myah McDonald, Lisa-Marie Pagliano and Annie Saechueng.

The Lobos best finish at the event came in 2021, when they finished sixth.

New Mexico has two top-six finishes in their five events this season, finishing T-5th when it hosted the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational and a sixth place finish at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate in its last event of the fall.
