Lobos Returns to Road at San Diego State Wednesday
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—The Lobos return to the road to face San Diego State on Wednesday at 12 p.m. MT/ 11 a.m. PT. UNM has won five of its last six and is 16-7 on the season, 7-3 in the MW and SDSU has won three of its last four and is 14-9, 5-5 in the MW.
UNM is 40-34 all-time against SDSU, 16-17 in games in San Diego and 3-1 in the last four games played in San Diego, and 6-4 in the last 10 games.
WILSON’S WORLD
Nyah Wilson has made quite the first impression in her first season as a Lobo, finishing in double figures in 17 games, with 20 or more points in eight games, leading the Lobos in scoring in eight games and setting several career highs.
Wilson has scored in double figures in all 10 MW games and has registered multiple steals in five. She’s scored 20-plus points in five conference games including in three of the last four games.
On the season, she’s scored a team-high 339 points (14.7 ppg) and is second in steals with 27. She is seventh in the MW in points per game and field goal percentage (.421) and fifth in free-throw percentage (.756). Wilson has made the second-most free throws (90) and taken the second-most free throws (119) amongst MW players. She is currently 40th in the NCAA in free throws and 37th in free throw attempts.
In conference play, Wilson is averaging 18.5 ppg and is third in the MW in scoring as well as fourth in field-goal percentage (.528). The Lobo junior is also eighth in steals per game (1.5) and fifth in free-throw percentage (.746).

Aniyah Augmon has recorded multiple steals in 14 games with two against Boise State and Montana State, three against Eastern Illinois, Tarleton State, Hampton, Utah State and Fresno State, four against Georgia Tech, Colorado State and UNLV (twice), five against New Mexico State and Wyoming, eight against Pepperdine. She’s had five or more steals in three games.
In her three years at UNM, she’s had 26 games with multiple steals and 45 games with a steal. She currently leads the MW in steals per game at 2.5 and her 54 steals are 27 more than the second-highest player on the team. Nationally, Augmon ranks 27th in the NCAA in steals, 38th in steals per game. In MW games, Augmon leads the conference with 26 steals and a 2.6 steals per game average.

Beyond her ability to impact a game with steals, Aniyah Augmon has scored in double figures in a team-high 18 games this season, including the last 10 and had a previous stretch of five consecutive games (16 against Texas A&M-Commerce, 11 against Montana State, 17 against Georgia Tech, 10 against Eastern Illinois and 10 against New Mexico State).
In addition to steals per game, Augmon is ranked fifth in assists per game (4.1), 11th in scoring (12.7) and 17th in rebounds per game (5.6) in the MW. In MW games, she’s seventh in points per game (15.0) after scoring double figures in all 10 games, seventh in field-goal percentage (.442), fifth in assists per game (4.1), first in steals per game (2.6) and 16th in rebounds per game (5.3).
CONSISTENT CONTRIBUTORS
Aniyah Augmon has scored in double figures in a team-high 18 games, while Nyah Wilson has scored in double figures in 17 games (with scoring 20 or more points in eight games) and Paula Reus in 13 games. Vianè Cumber has scored in double figures in 12 games with four games with 20-plus points. Charlotte Kohl has scored in double figures six times and has four double-doubles on the season. UNM has four players averaging double figures led by Wilson (14.7 ppg), Augmon (12.7), Cumber (12.1 ppg) and Reus (11.3).
UNM is 11-2 when Reus scores in double figures, 13-4 when Wilson scores in double figures and 13-5 when Augmon scores in double figures.
Augmon and Wilson have scored in double figures in all 10 conference games, with Cumber in seven and Reus in five. All four Lobos are averaging double figures in conference games led by Wilson at 18.5 ppg, Augmon 15.0 ppg, Cumber 12.2 ppg and Reus 10.2.

UNM has outscored opponents in the paint in 18 games and by a 720-546 (+174) margin. UNM has scored 48.2% of its points (720 of 1494) in the paint this season with 12 games scoring 50% or more of its total points in the paint. The Lobos had a season high of 50 paint points against Texas A&M-Commerce and scored 67.9% of their points in the paint in the Feb. 3 game against UNLV.
ABOUT SAN DIEGO STATE
The Aztecs enter Wednesday’s game 14-9 on the season, 5-5 in the MW and 8-4 at home. SDSU lost its last game at Colorado State (82-50), but had won its previous three games against Boise State (79-54), Utah State (76-62) and San José State (63-51).
SDSU averages 67.0 points per game, led by four in double figures. Adryana Quezada leads with 15.0 ppg, followed by Abby Prohaska (11.1), Kim Villalobos (10.6) and Jada Lewis (10.0), with Quezada shooting a team-high 54.7%. As a team, SDSU shoots 41.5% overall and 31.8% from three-point range, led by 44 three-pointers from Lewis.
On the other end, SDSU is allowing 64.2 ppg, but forcing 15.2 turnovers per game and 7.8 steals per game, and averaging 36.0 rebounds per game. Quezada leads with 6.5 rpg, while Villalobos leads with 41 steals and 23 blocks.
In conference games, SDSU averages 65.6 ppg, led by 14.6 ppg from Quezada, 11.6 ppg for Villalobos and 11.3 ppg for Prohaska. As a team, the Aztecs are shooting 40.3% and 33.1% from three-point range.
