Deraje Agbaosi Awarded Scholarship

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – New Mexico head coach Richard Pitino announced Monday that junior forward Deraje Agbaosi has been awarded a scholarship for the remainder of the 2023-24 season.

Agbaosi is in his first season with the Lobos after playing his first two collegiate seasons at North Alabama, where he appeared in 33 games, averaging 1.8 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. He is currently redshirting this season for the Lobos.

“Deraje has been a great addition to our program,” said Pitino. “He never has a bad day in practice and works hard to help our team get better every day. He is coachable and a great guy in the locker room. His future is bright and we are fortunate to be able to put him on scholarship this season. He has earned it and we are all very proud of him.”

The Lobos (18-4, 6-3 MW) return to action Tuesday with a visit to Wyoming. Game time is 6:30 pm and the game will air on the Mountain West Network.
