Lobo Women’s Golf Opens Spring Season in Mexico
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico women’s golf team opens its spring schedule with a trip to Mexico for the Collegiate Invitational at Guadalajara Country Club. The event, hosted by Virginia, will run Friday-Saturday at the 6,333-yard, par-72 Guadalajara Country Club.
The tournament will feature two rounds of play on Friday, followed by the final round on Saturday. Live scoring will be available on GolfStat.
The tournament has an elite field of 12 schools, with every school ranked in the top 64 nationally. The Lobos, ranked No. 64 in the latest rankings, will compete against No. 18 Cal, No. 23 Virginia, No. 30 Georgia, No. 31 Florida State, No. 39 SMU, No. 40 Maryland, No. 43 Tennessee, No. 44 Colorado State, No. 47 Louisville, No. 60 UNLV and No. 63 NC State.
New Mexico’s lineup for the event is Lauren Lehigh, Myah McDonald, Maria Caparros Levin, Lisa-Marie Pagliano and Annie Saechueng.
The Lobos are playing in the Collegiate Invitational for the first time. It is their first event outside the United States since a 2019-20 trip to the Bahamas for the White Sands Invitational and their first event in Mexico since the 2018-19 Battle at the Beach in Los Cabos.
New Mexico had two top-six finishes in their four fall events, finishing T-5th when it hosted the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational and a sixth place finish at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate in its last event.
