Nationally-Ranked Lobos Conclude Road Trip at San Jose State
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The No. 25 New Mexico men’s basketball team looks for its fourth straight win as it concludes a two-game road trip on Wednesday night at San Jose State. Game time at Provident Credit Union Events Center is 9:00 p.m. MT (8:00 p.m. PT) and the game will air on CBS Sports Network and the Lobo Radio Network.
The Lobos are 16-3 this season, 4-2 in the Mountain West, and entered the national rankings this week for the first time this season, coming in at No. 25 in both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches polls. UNM is coming off three straight wins, topping nationally ranked San Diego State and Utah State at The Pit before a road win Saturday at Air Force. JT Toppin is coming off a 25-point, 13-rebound performance against the Falcons, which earned him his sixth Mountain West Freshman of the Week honor of the season.
San Jose State is 8-10 overall, 1-4 in the Mountain West, and hasn’t played since a buzzer-beating 85-82 loss at Fresno State on Jan. 16. The Spartans are led by MJ Amey, who is scoring a team-high 15.2 points per game and hit the game-winning shot on Jan. 13 in their win at Air Force.
The Lobos swept both meetings last season, winning 77-57 at The Pit and 96-68 in San Jose.
New Mexico returns home on Sunday to begin a two-game homestand when it hosts Nevada. Game time is 8 p.m. and the game will air on FS1. Tickets are on sale now at GoLobos.com/tickets.
