ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The New Mexico men’s basketball team looks for its second consecutive ranked win on Tuesday night when No. 16 Utah State visits The Pit. Game time is 8:30 p.m. and the game will air on FS1 and the Lobo Radio Network.
Coming after Saturday’s win over No. 19 San Diego State, the Lobos are playing ranked opponents in back-to-back games at The Pit for the first time since 1992-93, when UNM downed No. 9 Utah and No. 21 BYU in the final two games of the regular season. Tuesday’s game is also Indigenous Heritage Night at The Pit, and the Lobos will commemorate the evening by wearing their turquoise jerseys.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early to avoid lines while going through the security procedures upon entry to The Pit, and due to construction that has caused increased travel times in the area. The Lobos are 14-3 this season, 2-2 in the Mountain West, after the 88-70 victory over the Aztecs. Jaelen House led UNM with 26 points and five assists in that game, while JT Toppin had 17 points and career highs of 16 rebounds and five blocks to earn Mountain West Freshman of the Week honors for the fifth time this season.
Utah State is 16-1 overall, 4-0 in the Mountain West, and brings the nation’s longest win streak of 15 games to Albuquerque. The Aggies are coming off an 87-86 victory at UNLV as they rallied from down four in the final 14 seconds. Great Osobor leads USU at 18.9 points and 9.6 rebounds per game and is the reigning Mountain West Player of the Week.
Utah State has won the last seven meetings and 10 of the last 11 matchups. The Aggies won both games last season, 84-73 in Logan and 91-76 in the quarterfinals of the Mountain West Tournament.
The Lobos will begin a two-game road trip on Saturday with a visit to Air Force. Game time in Colorado Springs is 2 p.m. and the game will air on CBS Sports Network.
