by Steve Kirkland

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The New Mexico men’s basketball team returns to action Tuesday night with a visit to UNLV. Game time at the Thomas & Mack Center is 8:30 p.m. MT (7:30 p.m. PT) and the game will be broadcast on FS1 and on the Lobo Radio Network.

New Mexico will be playing its fifth game in Las Vegas this season, having already won four games this season at the Dollar Loan Center in Henderson (three in the Ball Dawgs Classic, one in the Jack Jones Classic).

The Lobos are 13-2 this season, 1-1 in the Mountain West, following a 77-60 victory over Wyoming at The Pit on Saturday. Donovan Dent led UNM in the win over the Cowboys with 21 points, his first 20-point game in conference play. New Mexico had 16 steals against Wyoming, marking the seventh time in the past eight games that the Lobos recorded at least 10 steals.

UNLV enters their conference home opener with a 7-6 overall record and an 0-1 record in the Mountain West after falling at San Diego State 72-61 on Saturday. Luis Rodriguez leads the Runnin’ Rebels at 12.5 points per game.

UNLV has won eight of the last nine meetings, including the last five at the Thomas & Mack Center. The teams played once last season, an 84-77 Rebel win at The Pit. The Lobos last won at UNLV in 2017-18, when they swept the season series.

The Lobos will return home to host No. 19 San Diego State on Saturday. The game against the Aztecs will tip off at noon and air on CBS. Less than 1,000 tickets remain for that game and are on sale now at GoLobos.com/tickets.
