English Named MW Diver & Freshman of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — For the second time this season, Alice English picked up some conference hardware.  After her performance at the NAU Diving Invitational, English was named both the Mountain West Diver of the Week and Freshman of the Week.

It marked her second Diver of the Week honor and her first Freshman of the Week honor.

The Saline, Michigan native helped the Lobos to a fourth-place team finish at the NAU Diving Invitational.  She won the 1-meter with a career-best score of 289.30, her second NCAA Zones qualifying mark, and that was her third 1-meter win of the season in four tries.  She also qualified for the A-Final in the 3-meter, placing seventh with a score of 267.3.

The Lobos are back in action as a team on December 17-19 at the UNLV Invitational.  English will compete at the 2023 USA Diving Winter National Championships in Knoxville from Nov. 27 through Dec. 6.
