ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The New Mexico men’s basketball team travels to Las Vegas this week for the Ball Dawgs Classic, playing a trio of games in the event at the Dollar Loan Center in Henderson. The Lobos will play Toledo, Rice and Pepperdine in the six-team tournament.

The Lobos will play Toledo on Tuesday (approximately 9:15 pm MT/8:15 pm PT), Rice on Wednesday (approx. 7:45 pm MT/6:45 pm PT) and Pepperdine on Friday (approx. 4:45 pm MT/3:45 pm PT). All games will be broadcast on FloHoops and the Lobo Radio Network. Tickets for the event are on sale at TheDollarLoanCenter.com.

The Lobos are 2-1 on the season, after home victories over Texas Southern and UT Arlington and a road loss at Saint Mary’s. Donovan Dent leads the Lobos at 17.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, highlighted by a career-high 25 points in his last outing against UT Arlington. Jamal Mashburn, Jr. is averaging 17.0 points per game, while JT Toppin, the reigning Mountain West Freshman of the Week, is averaging 11.3 points and a team-high 8.3 rebounds per game.

New Mexico is looking to win a November tournament for the second consecutive year after taking the title at last year’s Lobo Classic. The three games at the Ball Dawgs Classic are the first of four games for UNM at the Dollar Loan Center this season (also Dec. 9 vs. Santa Clara in the Jack Jones Classic) and the first of at least six games this year for the Lobos in Las Vegas.

After the Ball Dawgs Classic, New Mexico will return home for a season-long three-game homestand, beginning against Louisiana Tech on Nov. 29.
