Volleyball Inks Three to NLI
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – New Mexico Volleyball Head Coach Jon Newman-Gonchar announced the signing of three high school standouts to National Letters of Intent (NLI) on National Signing Day on Wednesday, with all three set to join the Lobos in the Fall of 2024.
“This is a tremendous group of talented players we have assembled to represent our early signees,” said UNM Head Coach Jon Newman-Gonchar. “From size, to speed, to power, this class has it all – and the best part of all is they are exemplary young women who will represent the Cherry and Silver with tremendous pride!”
AMANDA TREMEROLI | OH/RS | Pinnacle HS | Phoenix, Ariz.
Over her prep career, Tremeroli earned a bevy of honors, including being named to Prep Volleyball’s Class of ’24 watch list and Under Armor’s All-American list for 2021. She was a part of the Arizona Region 17’s Champions team and finished 2nd at the 2023 USAV Nationals in the 17’s American division while being named to the All-Tournament team, and has qualified for USAV Nationals every single year from the age of 12. Planning to major in Business at UNM, Tremeroli also touts a 4.1 GPA.
COACH NEWMAN-GONCHAR ON TREMEROLI: “Amanda is as powerful of an attacker as we have had here at UNM, her tenacity on the court and her drive to be the best is what excites us most – can’t wait to have her here on campus!”
SEENANE BREWER | OH | Lawrence HS | Lawrence, Kan.
Brewer, set to graduate from Lawrence High School in the spring, boasts a remarkable high school volleyball career, named KSHSAA 6A First Team All-Sunflower League in 2023 and Sunflower League Honorable Mention in 2022.
For club, Brewer played for MAVS KC and Pohaku VBC, with her Pohaku VBC team securing a 17U Open Division 22nd place finish at the 2023 USAV Girls Junior National Championship. Her choice to represent UNM is deeply rooted in her familial ties to the institution — her mother was a four-year letter winner for Lobo Volleyball from 1996-99 and earned the WAC Defensive Specialist Award and her cousin Kelly McCabe was a four-year track letterman at UNM. She’s also cousins with MLB player Jacoby Ellsbury, who has spent time with the Red Sox and Yankees.
“I chose New Mexico because it really is my home, all of my family on my mom’s side lives there so I will have so much support from not just my family but from the Indigenous community that I am proud to represent and play for,” Brewer said. “I also loved the coaches and the amount of love they have for the girls. They care about you and your development as a player but also as a person.”
COACH NEWMAN-GONCHAR ON BREWER: “We are so excited to have Seenane wearing Cherry and Silver, she has a very complete skill set, and will immediately impact our ability to play the game at a high level, a fierce competitor, a dynamic athlete, and LOBO through and through, the LOBO fans are in for a treat watching her play!”
REAGAN MILLER | MB | Hoover HS | Birmingham, Ala.
Hailing from Hoover, Ala., Miller is a two-time AVCA Phenom List selection and has spent time with the Alabama Performance 18 National Club team.
Planning to major in Biology at UNM, Miller was part of the AP Capstone Program and Spanish Honors Society, earning the prestigious AP Scholar with Honor award.
“During my short time on campus and with the team, I couldn’t help but observe the strong connection the girls had with one another,” Miller said of her choice to join the Lobos. “I was excited at the prospect of joining such a hardworking and cohesive team lead by such an incredible and dedicated coaching staff!”
COACH NEWMAN-GONCHAR ON MILLER: “Reagan is FORCE! She has the speed, power, and athletic ability to set herself apart starting day one in the Mountain West Conference! We are excited to have her on campus and can’t wait to see her dominate!”
