New Mexico Finishes Sixth at Ron Moore Intercollegiate

HIGHLANDS RANCH Colo. – The New Mexico women’s golf team concluded play Sunday at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate with the final round at the DU Golf Club. The Lobos shot 3-over during the third round to finish the tournament in sixth place at 5-under.

Cal overcame a 13-shot deficit to start the day to win the event at 21-under, one shot over host Denver at 20-under. Vanderbilt finished third at 15-under, followed by Kansas at 14-under, Oregon State at 11-under and the Lobos.

Myah McDonald capped her first top-five finish of the season with a final round 69 to finish T-4th at 7-under. Lauren Lehigh had her second top-10 finish, shooting 6-under for the event to finish T-7th after a final round 72. Maria Caparros Levin shot 73 in the final round, while Ciara Rushmer shot a 77. Lisa-Marie Pagliano rounded out the lineup with a final round 79.

“Myah and Lauren finished well today,” said head coach Jill Trujillo. “They both had great performances this week.”

The Lobos will end the fall portion of their schedule Oct. 22-23 when they play the Jim West Challenge, hosted by Texas State in San Marcos, Texas.
