ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— Junior midfielder Natalie DeGagne scored her first goal of the season in the 70th minute of Thursday’s MW contest against Colorado College as the Lobos fell 2-1.

DeGagne became the eighth different Lobo to score a goal this season and took 10 shots in the match, four of them on frame, both of which were career highs. As a team, UNM outshot CC 24-10 and 11-5 in shots on goal.

The Lobos fell behind in the 29th minute and the Tigers added a second goal to the same exact spot of the top right corner before the half in the 41st minute to take a 2-0 lead into the break. Presley Devey had two attempts on goal in the 33rd and the 36th minute with Paris Dalton and Brynn Boeyink each having looks at the goal.

UNM cut the deficit in half in the 70th minute, as DeGagne’s initial shot was blocked, but the Lobo got the ball back just outside the top of the 18-yard box, dribbled past her defender and slid the shot past the sliding goalie to the bottom right corner for the goal.

It marked the Seattle, Washington native’s fifth career goal.

The Lobos had another opportunity in the 73rd minute and in the 76th minute on shots by Devey that resulted in saves, with the last one occurring off of a free kick that went right to the Tiger goalkeeper. New Mexico took two final shots on goal in the 78th and 80th minute, both by DeGagne and had a final shot in the 87th minute by Sophia Roberts that went wide right for the final score.

Both teams matched their first half production with 12 shots for the Lobos compared to five for the Tigers, while the Lobos had seven shots on goal in the final 45 minutes compared to one for CC.
