Men’s Golf Hosts Tucker Intercollegiate Monday and Tuesday

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico men’s golf team will play its home event of the 2023-24 season on Monday and Tuesday as it hosts the 68th William H. Tucker Intercollegiate. The event at the 7,546-yard, par-72 UNM Championship Course is free for spectators to attend.

The first two rounds of the tournament will be played on Monday, beginning with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. The final round will be Tuesday, starting with a 7:45 a.m. shotgun start. Live scoring will be available on Golfstat.com.

This year’s tournament features players from 20 schools, including five that reached last year’s NCAA Championship in Scottsdale. The Lobos, along with BYU, Colorado, San Francisco and Texas Tech are in the Tucker field after being one of the 30 teams to reach the NCAA finals last spring. Defending Tucker champion San Diego State, along with Hawaii, Kansas State, Long Beach State, New Mexico State, San Diego, Santa Clara, TCU, UC Santa Barbara, UNLV, USC, Utah Tech, UTEP, UTSA and Wyoming round out the field.

The Lobos will feature a lineup of Albert Boneta, Matthew Watkins, Carson Herron, Bastien Amat, Connor Adams. Oliver Cage will compete as an individual.

The William H. Tucker Intercollegiate dates back to 1955 when the Lobos won the inaugural event. New Mexico has won the event 14 times, most recently in 2019. The Lobos have been the tournament’s runner-up in each of the past two seasons.
