Lobo Women’s Golf Travels to Oklahoma for the Schooner Fall Classic

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico women’s golf team returns to action this weekend with a trip to Oklahoma for the Schooner Fall Classic. The event at the 6,182-yard, par-70 Belmar Golf Club in Norman runs Saturday-Monday.

The tournament will feature one round per day, with 18 holes on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Live scoring will be available on Golf Genius.

The tournament has an elite field of 15 schools, highlighted by six teams that reached the 2023 NCAA Championship. The Lobos, along with reigning NCAA Champion Wake Forest, Florida State, Oklahoma State, TCU and Tulsa, are in the field a year after advancing to the NCAA finals. Host Oklahoma, Houston, Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas State, North Texas, Purdue, Texas State and Virginia Tech round out the field.

New Mexico’s lineup for the event is Lauren Lehigh, Myah McDonald, Lisa-Marie Pagliano, Maria Caparros Levin and Rebecca Galasso.

The Lobos are playing the Schooner Fall Classic for the second time. In their only previous appearance, they posted a 13th place finish at the event during the 2018-19 season.

New Mexico opened the 2023-24 season with a T-5th place finish at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational, its lone home event of the season at the UNM Championship Course.
