Lobo Women’s Golf Hosts Season-Opening Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico women’s golf team opens its 2023-24 season Monday-Tuesday as it hosts the 45th annual Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational. The event at the 6,354-yard, par-72 UNM Championship Course is free for spectators to attend.

The first two rounds of the tournament will be played on Monday, beginning with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. The final round will be Tuesday, also starting with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start. Live scoring will be available on Golfstat.com.

This year’s tournament features 17 schools. Joining the host Lobos are Arizona State, Boise State, Cal, Denver, Iowa State, Kansas, Kent State, Northwestern, Ohio State, Oregon State, Pepperdine, San Diego State, SMU, Texas State and UNLV. Individuals from Texas are also in the field.

New Mexico’s lineup for the event is Lauren Lehigh, Myah McDonald, Lisa-Marie Pagliano, Annie Saechueng and Maria Caparros Levin. Ciara Rushmer, Rebecca Galasso and Sophia Zamarripa will also compete as individuals.

The 45th Annual Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational marks the 68th year that UNM has hosted a women’s golf event, dating back to 1956 in conjunction with the William H Tucker Invitational hosted by the UNM men’s team. The Lobos have won seven team titles when hosting the event, most recently in 2008. Ohio State, the 2022 champion, returns to defend the title.
