Lobos Begin Week at Home with Colorado Thursday
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— After earning a road win at San Diego last Thursday, the Lobos return home for their next two matches starting with Colorado on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The match will be streamed on the Mountain West Network with live stats available for those unable to attend in person.
UNM enters the match 2-0-2 following a 1-0 win at San Diego, courtesy of a Brynn Boeyink penalty kick, and is currently on a two-match win streak and a 12-match unbeaten streak. Colorado is 5-1-0 on the season with the Buffaloes winning their last four matches including a 2-0 victory over then-No. 14 Michigan State, and have outscored their opponents 12-2. Thursday will be CU’s first road match of the season.
Historically, UNM is 0-2-1 against CU with one prior match taking place in Albuquerque, a 1-0 loss back on Sept. 14, 2003. The last time the two teams met was in 2015.
GETTING STARTED
The Lobos have started a different lineup in all four matches with midfielder Dalis Bruce making her first career start against TTU, and Kennedy Brown, Sariah Brady and Fiona Jenkins making their first starts against NAU. In the last match against USD, Skye McMillon and Presely Devey were added to the first collegiate start list. Brown and Jenkins have started the last three matches with Brown playing all 90 minutes in all three and Jenkins playing the entirety of the match against USD. Alli Davis, Mercedes Morris, Natalie DeGagne, Paige Satterlee and Myah Isais have started all four matches.
MYAH MINUTES
Senior defender Myah Isais has started in 60 matches in her career and has accumulated 5,685 minutes of playing time over 72 matches. The Colorado native has started every match in the last four years and the last three matches in 2019 for a streak of 60 consecutive starts. She is a fixture on the field, playing the entire match in 15 of 19 matches last season, the entire 90 minutes in the first four matches of 2023 and in her five years, has played the entire match 45 times.
SHARE THE WEALTH
The Lobos have had four different goal scorers and four different players credited with an assist in the four matches this season. Ellie Robinson scored the first goal of the season in the 87th minute against Texas Tech in the season opener, and Skye McMillon scored her first goal of the season in the 27th minute against Cal State Fullerton. Margaux Clarke broke the tie in the 48th minute against the Titans for her first goal as a Lobo. Brynn Boeyink scored the game-winner on a penalty kick in the 68th minute at San Diego. Paris Dalton and Paige Satterlee assisted on Robinson’s goal, while Clarke assisted on McMillon’s goal and Myah Isais provided the assist in Clarke’s goal.
SHOOT YOUR SHOT
The Lobos have recorded 18 or more shots in the last three matches with 18 at San Diego and 19 against Northern Arizona and Cal State Fullerton. Of those, eight were on goal at San Diego and nine were on goal against Cal State Fullerton. UNM has had the advantage in shots in the last three matches (19/9 vs. NAU, 19/10 vs. CSF and 18/7 vs. USD) and in shots on goal in the last two (9/2 vs. CSF and 8/6 vs. USD).
ALL IN ON ALLI
Alli Davis is as reliable as they come and among the best goalkeepers in the MW and the NCAA. Davis currently ranks 23rd in the NCAA in save % (.905), first in the MW, and 42nd in goals-against-average at .500, second in the MW. Davis has made 19 saves this season, allowing just two goals in 360 minutes with two shutouts. In her two years in net, Davis has made 87 saves and carries a save % of .853 and a GAA average of 0.67.
THE STREAK CONTINUES
Dating back to last season, the Lobos have an unbeaten streak of 12 matches. The streak started with a 3-1 win over Fresno State on Oct. 6 and the Lobos are 6-0-6 in the span following Thursday’s win over San Diego. UNM has scored 15 goals during the streak, outscoring opponents 15-4 with eight shutouts.
The longest unbeaten record is 13 matches, starting at the end of the 2008 season and extending 10 matches into the 2009 season, going 9-0-4 in that stretch.
Historically, it is the fourth time in program history that UNM has had an unbeaten streak of 10 matches or longer (2008-2009, 2010, 2011, 2022-current).
