KKOB, Lobo Basketball Radio Honored by New Mexico Broadcasters Association

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. –– The radio broadcast team of Lobo men’s basketball and flagship station KKOB were among the recipients of the 2023 Excellence in Broadcasting Award by the New Mexico Broadcasters Association.

Robert Portnoy, the Voice of the Lobos, along with analyst Hunter Greene and producer Steph Griffin, received the award for Metro Market Sports Play-by-Play for their work calling UNM’s 14-0 start to the 2022-23 season. KKOB radio, the flagship station for UNM football and men’s basketball, was named the Metro Market Station of the Year for the second straight year, as the NMBA recognized the work of general manager Jeff Berry and Operations Manager Jared Hart.

KKOB, a Cumulus Media station, broadcasts all Lobo football and men’s basketball games throughout the state on its AM (770) and FM (96.3) channels.
