O'Connor, Huang Named CSC Academic All-District
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. –— College Sports Communicators have announced the 2023 Women’s Tennis CSC Academic All-District teams, and the Lobos had a pair of student-athletes earn honors in sophomore Sarah O’Connor and junior Hsuan Huang. This is the first honor for either student-athlete. Both now advance to the national ballot for potential All-America status.
O’Connor is in her second year with the team, and she was the only player to slot into the No. 1 singles spot this season, her first in the top spot. She picked nine wins in singles, and in doubles she nabbed 14, including going 11-4 in the spring for the second-most doubles wins on the team.
Huang, a junior, was third on the team with 36 combined victories, going 17-9 in singles and 19-9 in doubles. She played mostly at No. 5 singles, and she went 8-4 in the Spring. In doubles, playing mostly at No. 2, she went 10-6 in the Spring.
O’Connor is majoring in business and has a 3.75 GPA, while Huang is majoring in computer science with a 3.83 GPA.
