Women’s Golf Travels to California for Mountain West Championship
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico women’s golf team begins the postseason this week with a trip to California for the Mountain West Championship. The event will run Tuesday-Thursday at the 6,252-yard, par-72 Dinah Shore Tournament Course at the Mission Hill Country Club in Rancho Mirage.
The tournament will consist of one round per day, beginning on Tuesday. Live scoring of the event will be on GolfStat.com.
The Lobos enter the tournament ranked No. 44 nationally in GolfStat and are the second-highest ranked team in the Mountain West, behind only No. 10 San Jose State. UNLV (No. 53), Nevada (No. 68), Colorado State (No. 71) and San Diego State (No. 95) are also ranked in the top 100, while Fresno State, Boise State and Wyoming round out the field at the championship.
New Mexico’s lineup for the event is Napat “Jenny” Lertsadwattana, Lauren Lehigh, Myah McDonald, Maria Caparros Levin, and Lisa-Marie Pagliano. Annie Saechueng is the alternate in the lineup.
The Lobos have four top-three finishes this season in nine events. UNM has two individual victories with Lertsadwattana winning the Ron Moore Intercollegiate in Colorado in the fall and McDonald winning The Show at Spanish Trail in Las Vegas in February.
New Mexico is searching for its 10th Mountain West title, having won the event in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2014 and 2021.
