Lobos Lose Series Finale with Broncos
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— The Lobos limited Boise State to one run through the first three innings, but the Broncos scored 12 runs in the final three to win 13-0 in six on Saturday afternoon.
The Lobos were held to two hits with Chloe Yeatts leading off the bottom of the fifth with a double to left for her sixth double of the season, where pinch runner Grace Rana was left stranded, and a triple in the bottom of the sixth by Rachael Hathoot for her second of the series and sixth of the season.
After the Broncos opened the game with a run in the first, Lobo starter Taylor Snow retired the side in order in both the second and third to keep the game at 1-0. However, the Broncos added three runs in the fourth, three runs in the fifth and six runs in the sixth to push the game to run-rule territory.
Snow went 4.1 innings before Bella Mitchell entered, facing two batters before Samantha Fohrman replaced her and pitched the next 1.1 innings. Emmalyn Brinka entered to replace Fohrman and recorded the final out in the top of the sixth.
UNM remains at home for its next MW series, set to face Colorado State on Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. and 12 p.m., respectively.
