ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — After opening the week with an excited 7-0 home win over the No. 74 Drake Bulldogs, the Lobos now head across country to the Eastern Time Zone for a pair of weekend matches, facing the Radford Highlanders at 11 a.m. Mountain Time on Saturday and the East Tennessee State Buccaneers on Sunday at 9 a.m. Mountain Time.

There will be no live stream of either match, and there will only be live scoring for Saturdat’s match with Radford.

The Lobos and Drake on Tuesday played a tight match with five three-set matches in singles, all five of which UNM dropped the opening set.  However, the Lobos, which are 8-3 this season with thre three losses all at 4-3, showed their mettle, winning all five of them, including Georgio Samaha and Aram Noroozian winning their ninth straight matches.

In Radford, the Lobos will face a team that is 6-4 on the season and owning a four-match winning streak.  The Highlanders are coming off a 7-0 win over their own, winning over the Longwood Lancers in their Big South opener.  In ETSU, the Lobos will face a 6-9 Buc squad that is 3-1 in the SoCon.

For New Mexico, the Lobos are sitting at 8-3 and looking for a third road win in four tries, having beaten New Mexico State 6-1 and BYU 4-3.  UNM’s only road loss was 4-3 at Utah.  The Lobos have never lost to Radford, winning 7-0 in 2002 and 5-2 in 2007.  UNM lost its only meeting with East Tennessee State, falling 4-2 last year in Johnson City when the Bucs were ranked No. 73.
