ALBUQUERQUE, N.M — The UNM Lobo Club in conjunction with UNM Athletic is hosting its third annual day of giving, #LobosGiveDay, today, Tuesday, Feb. 28.   The 24-hour plus event is aimed to connect and rally the nationwide Lobo support and community for UNM athletics and the current generation of Lobo student-athletes.  Last year’s event raised nearly a quarter-million dollars for Lobo Athletics, and the 2021 event raised just south of $200,000.

This year, the event runs through today until 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, making the event 1,889 minutes, mirroring the year of the university’s founding in 1889.  It also connects Lobos Give Day with UNM Big Give which aids programs throughout the university through the Foundation.

There will be four areas in which people can give towards: Education, the New Mexico Mutual Champions Training Center, UNM’s L.I.F.E. program (Lobo Institute for Excellence) or individual sport programs.

Throughout the day, Lobo Club will be promoting fun challenges, matches, and competitions in an effort to engage and bring the Lobo community together. One of the fun challenges will be to bring in a donation from every state in the United States and show just how far Lobo Nation spans.  All of those updates will be availabile to follow along at www.twitter.com/UNMLoboClub.

The morning started with a two-hour window at Frontier/Golden Pride where 20% of proceeds went towards Lobos Give Day.

Beyond just donations, Lobo Club is seeking the help of loyal Lobo supporters to serve as Champions of the day and help spread the word leading up to Lobo Giving Day and day of.  To become a Champion please visit golobos.com/champions.
