Sold Out Pit Awaits New Mexico-San Diego State Matchup on Saturday Night
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The New Mexico men’s basketball team returns home Saturday night when it hosts No. 22 San Diego State. Game time at The Pit is 8:00 p.m. and the game will air on CBS Sports Network and the Lobo Radio Network.
While the game sold out weeks ago, some tickets that are currently on hold may become available. Those tickets will go on sale at 9 a.m. Saturday morning at GoLobos.com/tickets.
With a large crowd expected and the new security features, including metal detectors, in place, fans are encouraged to arrive early to avoid delays entering the arena with gates opening at 6:30 p.m. To avoid heavy traffic when arriving, click here to find the quickest route to enter your parking lot.
Saturday’s contest is the Lobos’ annual Indigenous Heritage Game. Fans are encouraged to support the Lobos by wearing turquoise. From 7-8:30 pm, UNM Football great and two-time Super Bowl Champion Robin Cole will be signing autographs on the concourse, thanks to All In Autographs.
The Lobos (20-8, 7-8 MW) is looking for its second ranked win of the season. New Mexico is led by Jamal Mashburn, Jr., who leads the Mountain West in scoring at 19.6 ppg. Morris Udeze leads the conference in rebounding (9.3 ppg), field goal percentage (60.8%) and double-doubles (12).
San Diego State (22-5, 13-2 MW) is leading the Mountain West and enters the game on a five-game win streak. The Aztecs are led by Matt Bradley, who averages 13.0 points per game.
The Lobos lead the all-time series 49-43 overall and 30-12 at The Pit. The Aztecs are making their first visit to Albuquerque in three seasons. New Mexico is looking for the season sweep of San Diego State after winning 76-67 on Jan. 14 at Viejas Arena.
New Mexico will conclude its home schedule on Tuesday when it hosts Fresno State. Game time is 8:30 p.m. and the game will air on FS1. Prior to the game, five Lobos will be honored (Josiah Allick, Jaelen House, KJ Jenkins, Emmanuel Kuac, Morris Udeze) during Senior Night festivities.
