Myah McDonald Named Mountain West Golfer of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –– New Mexico junior Myah McDonald was named the Mountain West Women’s Golfer of the Week, the conference announced Thursday. She was honored after winning the individual title at The Show at Spanish Trail in Las Vegas.

It is the first Mountain West weekly honor for a Lobo this season and the second of McDonald’s career. She also earned the honor last March after a pair of top-15 finishes in Dallas and Arizona.

McDonald earned her first collegiate victory by shooting 9-under at Spanish Trail Country Club to post a two-shot victory in a field that included 10 top-100 players. McDonald shot rounds of 68-70-69 to record a career-low score of 207, while her first-round 68 was also a collegiate best. Her victory also helped the Lobos finish third as a team in the event.

The Lobos return to action March 10-12 with the Clover Cup in Mesa, Ariz.
