ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— The Lobos opened their home schedule with a sweep of Cal State Bakersfield, 8-2 and 10-3 on Thursday, with nine players combining for 22 hits.

Peyton Robinson led the Lobos at the plate with five combined hits between the two games with Jenna Trim going 4-6 with a double, a triple and two RBI. UNM had five extra base hits with Loran Walker and Chloe Yeatts each hitting their first collegiate home runs. Six different players finished with two RBI on the day and six different players had multiple hits between the two games.

In the circle, Taylor Snow picked up her first win as a Lobo, throwing 7.0 innings of relief in game two and Amber Linton went the distance in game one to move to 3-2 on the season while also recording her 200th career strikeout.

GAME 1
Linton pitched her third complete game, holding Cal State Bakersfield to three hits while striking out nine, and the Lobo bats scored eight runs on 10 hits to take the first game. Robinson and Trim led with two hits apiece with Keyannah Chavez leading with two RBI. Five different players recorded at least one RBI and eight different players had at least one hit.

After leaving two runners on base in the first, UNM got onto the board in the bottom of the second, using two hits and an error to score four runs. Emma Bramson led off the inning with a single up the middle, moving to second on a wild pitch and third on a passed ball, eventually scoring on a wild pitch. With the lineup turned over, Robinson reached on a hit-by-pitch and stole second, setting up runners on second and third. Chavez brought them both in on a single to center, later scoring on a fielding error by the Roadrunner shortstop for the fourth run of the inning.

The Lobos added two more runs in the bottom of the third as Yeatts led off with a home run to center and Trim followed with a double to the gap in right center on the next at-bat to put another runner in scoring position. Maddie Boldt singled through the right side to move Trim to third, with Robinson hitting an infield single to score Trim for the 6-0 Lobo lead.

Cal State Bakersfield got two back in the top of the fourth on a leadoff walk, a double and a single that scored both runners, but the Lobos limited the opportunity with a 1-6-3 double play and a Linton strikeout.

Trim again was the catalyst for the Lobo scoring in the fifth, hitting a one-out triple to left center and was brought in on the next play on a Boldt grounder to second. UNM added one more run in the bottom of the sixth with Robinson leading off with a bunt, stealing second and scoring on a Rachael Hathoot single to right field.

UNM stole a season-high four bases on the game, going 4-4 with Robinson accounting for two, Chavez one and Hathoot one.

GAME 2
The Roadrunners were the first on the scoreboard in the second game, getting to starter Samantha Fohrman for three runs before Snow entered the game in relief, getting the Lobos out of the inning and pitching scoreless innings for the remainder of the game as the Lobos went on to score 10 unanswered runs. UNM scored in all but one inning in its six at-bats.

Trailing 3-0 heading into the home half of the first, New Mexico was quick to respond, with Robinson reaching on an error and taking second. Hathoot followed with a bunt to the pitcher, reaching base with Robinson moving to third. With Walker at the plate, Hathoot stole second as Robinson broke for home, with both reaching safely, and after play resumed, Walker drove the 2-1 pitch over the wall in left to even the score at three.

The Lobo scoring resumed in the second inning, starting with a single to center by Olivia Birkinshaw, with the sophomore stealing second and advancing to third on a single to center by Chavez, and the freshman taking second on the throw to put two in scoring position. Hathoot broke the tie two at-bats later, drawing a four-pitch walk with bases loaded to bring in Birkinshaw before the inning came to an end.

UNM added three more runs in the third on three hits, the first run coming on a single to right by Trim and a double by Bramson. Bramson moved to third on a fly ball to right, setting up the score as Chavez reached on a fielding error by the second baseman. After stealing second, Chavez produced the third run of the inning on a single to right by Robinson.

Pinch runner Evany Gonzalez scored the lone run in the fifth inning following two fly balls to left and the Lobos closed the scoring with two more runs in the sixth as Trim singled to left with runners on second and third.

Four Lobos finished with multiple hits in the second game, led by a 3-4 outing for Robinson and 2-3 outings for Hathoot and Walker at the top of the lineup and a 2-3 outing for Trim.

With the wins, the Lobos move to 5-5 on the season.
