ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The New Mexico men’s basketball team concludes a two-game road trip Wednesday night when it visits Boise State. Game time at ExtraMile Arena is 8:30 p.m. and the game will air on FS1 and the Lobo Radio Network.
The Lobos (20-7, 7-7 MW) are looking to snap a long home-win streak for the third time this season. New Mexico has already snapped Saint Mary’s school-record 23-game home win streak and San Diego State’s 16-game home win streak this season and will now play a Boise State team that has won 12 in a row at ExtraMile Arena. New Mexico is led by Jamal Mashburn, Jr., who leads the Mountain West in scoring at 20.0 ppg and has scored in double figures in 48 consecutive games, the second-longest active streak in the nation. Morris Udeze leads the conference in rebounding (9.1 ppg) and double-doubles (11).
Boise State (21-6, 11-3 MW) is in second place in the Mountain West standings and is one of two teams in the league unbeaten at home in conference play. The Broncos have five players averaging in double figures this season, led by Tyson Degenhart at 14.4 ppg.
The Lobos lead the all-time series 13-9 overall, while the Broncos have won six of the 10 meetings in Boise. New Mexico won the first meeting this season, 81-79 in overtime on Jan. 20 at The Pit as Udeze scored the game-winning basket with 2.6 seconds left. Boise State has won the last four at ExtraMile Arena, with UNM’s last road win in the series coming in 2016-17.
New Mexico will return home to host No. 22 San Diego State on Saturday night at The Pit. Game time is 8 p.m. and the game will air on CBS Sports Network. The game has been sold out for weeks, but if any tickets become available, they will go on sale at GoLobos.com/tickets at 9 a.m. Saturday.
