The Lobos (19-7, 6-7 MW) are looking to snap a season-long four-game losing streak and reach the 20-win milestone for the 28th time in program history. New Mexico is led by Jamal Mashburn, Jr., who leads the Mountain West in scoring at 19.8 ppg and has scored in double figures in 47 consecutive games, the second-longest active streak in the nation. Morris Udeze leads the conference in rebounding (9.0 ppg) and double-doubles (10).
San Jose State (16-10, 7-6 MW) has already tied its record for Mountain West wins in a season with seven following a victory at UNLV on Tuesday night. The Spartans are led by Omari Moore, who is averaging 20.0 points and 5.4 assists per game in conference play.
The Lobos lead the all-time series 19-5 overall and 4-3 in San Jose. The home team has won the last seven meetings in the series, dating back to a Lobo victory in San Jose in 2017-18. New Mexico won this year’s first meeting, 77-57, at The Pit on Jan. 17.
New Mexico will conclude the road trip on Wednesday at Boise State. Game time for that contest is 8:30 p.m. and the game will air on FS1.
