ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The New Mexico men’s basketball team closes out its non-conference schedule Monday night as it hosts Summit League favorite Oral Roberts at The Pit. Game time is 7 p.m. and the game will air on the Mountain West Network.
The game was scheduled two weeks ago as a replacement for one of the Lobos’ cancelled games against New Mexico State. Season ticket holders should have received their tickets for the game in their account last week. Individual game tickets are on sale now at GoLobos.com/tickets.
The Lobos (14-2, 2-2 MW) will look to compete an unbeaten non-conference schedule with a win on Monday night, which would be the fifth time UNM had accomplished the feat. New Mexico is looking to snap a two-game losing streak after being the final unbeaten team in the nation. The Lobos are one of two teams in the nation (North Carolina) to have three players averaging over 16.0 ppg with Jamal Mashburn, Jr., Jaelen House and Morris Udeze.
Oral Roberts (13-3, 4-0 Summit League) enters the game on a 10-game win streak, the fifth longest active streak in the nation. The Golden Eagles, who rank in the top 10 nationally in scoring average, are led by guard Max Abmas, one of just nine active 2,000 career point scorers in Division I.
The Lobos lead the all-time series 2-1, with the home team winning all three previous meetings. The teams last met in 2015-16 at The Pit, a 91-75 UNM victory.
New Mexico will return to Mountain West play on Saturday with a visit to San Diego State. The Lobos will host back-to-back conference games the following week against San Jose State (Jan. 17) and Boise State (Jan. 20).
